A close up shot of the steps in front of Balto's house. The soft texture of the grass sprouting up between the hard, but smooth, stone, foot-path and the one leaf centered perfectly in the middle of it all. The steps just look like they lead to a warm and comforting place, which they do.
I was with some friends outside of Ubud, near the jungle. We met some locals who were thrilled to have tourists in their village. A few of them brought us down this path and through the jungle to a river. The path less traveled truly does make all the difference.
The ever so popular term "Java," for coffee is derived from the island of Java, Indonesia. Java is full of lush coffee beans such as this one. Coffee is a major industry and export for Indonesia. Always has been. I took this photo near a friend's home outside of Jember, Indonesia. I had never seen coffee beans growing before. It was pretty cool to see a the natural source of coffee.
