Nyepi is a holiday, ceremony and celebration that usually takes place towards the end of March in Bali every year. There is one day that is a day of silence. No eating, drinking, smoking, talking, use of electricity, cooking or talking is to be done, only meditation. The following days have ceremonies where local music, drumming, costumes and floats of ancient mythological creatures are parading down the streets.
