Taken from a rooftop apartment in Astoria, Queens of the Triborough Bridge, which is now called the RFK Bridge. This was taken on the Fourth of July, where a fireworks display happens in Astoria Park. The view was perfect. I love fireworks and alway photograph them when I can.
This is the Triborough Bridge that connects Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx to each other. I'm taking this shot across the way from Astoria Park in Queens, NY. I used to live just a few blocks away from this spot and it was my happy place. When life got rough, I would sit by the river, check out that skyline and know I could do anything I set my mind and heart to. It's one of my favorite spots in New York City and a place I try to spend as much time at when I go back home.
It's not often one can actually watch the sunrise or sun set in New York City. But my sister has an apartment that makes the sun rise half visible. Her apartment is on the cusp of Long Island City and Astoria Queens. With Manhattan over the bridge, you can see the buildings in the background. It's actually one of the few times I remember seeing the sunrise this clearly anywhere in New York City.
